The story centers around Trish, who, after experiencing a devastating personal tragedy, seeks solace by taking her best friend Maddie to a secluded private lagoon located halfway across the world. What begins as a peaceful escape quickly transforms into a harrowing fight for survival when one of the ocean’s most deadly predators, a bloodthirsty killer whale seeking revenge for its brutal captivity, turns the tranquil waters into a nightmarish battleground.
Directed by Jo-Anne Brechin, known for her work on Designing Christmas With You, the screenplay was co-written by Brechin and Katharine E. McPhee. The film features performances by Virginia Gardner, familiar from Halloween 2018, along with Mel Jarnson and Mitchell Hopestar.
The newly released trailer reveals Gardner’s character embarking on a seemingly innocent getaway with her friend, which quickly spirals into chaos due to the appearance of the killer whale.
