Racist Attack on Indian-Origin Family at Sydney Park: Shocking Incident Caught on Camera (2026)

Imagine a peaceful family outing turning into a nightmare of racial hatred. This is the chilling reality for one family in Sydney, Australia, who allege they were subjected to vile racial slurs and physical assault while simply enjoying a game of cricket.

It's a scenario no one should have to endure: children witnessing their parents being verbally and physically attacked. This incident, which occurred on Saturday, January 3rd, at the cricket nets in Doug Bollinger Reserve (also known as Best Road Reserve) in Seven Hills, has left a young family shaken and fearful of returning to public spaces.

According to Mr. Singh (whose name has been withheld for his safety), the trouble began around 12:30 pm. He was practicing cricket with his children when a man, accompanied by a dog, allegedly walked behind them. While Mr. Singh's back was turned, the cricket ball reportedly rolled near the man and his dog, though it's understood there was no contact.

But here's where it gets controversial... The man, however, allegedly reacted with immediate aggression, accusing Mr. Singh of intentionally targeting his dog. Mr. Singh states he calmly explained that they were in a designated cricket training area and advised the man to avoid walking through the nets during practice. Yet, the confrontation, according to Mr. Singh, continued to escalate.

What followed was a barrage of deeply offensive and racially charged language. Mr. Singh alleges the man shouted, "You f… Indians, go back to India." It was at this point that Mr. Singh began recording the interaction on his phone. He claims that upon noticing the recording, the man initially denied making the remarks but resumed his aggressive behavior once filming ceased.

And this is the part most people miss... Mr. Singh further alleges that the man then picked up a stick from the ground and advanced towards him in a threatening manner. He states that when the recording was resumed, the man dropped the stick.

After a period, the first man reportedly left the park. However, the ordeal was far from over. Approximately five minutes later, a second, older man allegedly approached the family, continuing with abusive and racially offensive language. This individual, according to Mr. Singh, then approached him and proceeded to physically push and strike him. Disturbingly, video footage captures this man directing explicit racial abuse, stating, "Get back to your own country, you c—, we are in f— Australia."

While Mr. Singh urged his children to call the police, the second man continued his verbal and physical threats. NSW Police arrived shortly after, but both individuals involved had already departed the scene. Officers reportedly viewed the video recordings and indicated they would attempt to identify the individuals and formally register the incident.

The emotional toll on the family has been significant, particularly for the children, who are now reportedly reluctant to visit the park or even be in the vicinity. Mr. Singh expressed his heartbreak at seeing his children feel unsafe in a place meant for recreation.

The Australia Today contacted NSW Police, who confirmed they were called to a sports reserve in Seven Hills on January 3, 2026, following reports of an assault. At that time, the two men involved could not be located, and the victim had not yet provided a formal statement. Mr. Singh later attended Blacktown Police Station on January 12th, where he was informed that no further action could be taken due to the inability to locate the men and that he had not been asked to provide a statement.

Following further inquiry from The Australia Today, NSW Police did subsequently contact Mr. Singh to obtain his statement.

This story is developing and will be updated as more information becomes available.
