Get ready for a major security boost on your Galaxy devices! Samsung is rolling out the March 2026 security update, and it's packed with critical fixes.
While Samsung was a bit late with the February patch, we're hoping for an earlier release this time around. The upcoming update addresses a whopping 65 vulnerabilities, with most classified as high severity. Only a small fraction, 8 to be exact, are labeled critical. Interestingly, only 5 of these vulnerabilities are unique to Galaxy devices, while the rest are common to all Android devices.
The security patch doesn't introduce any new software features, but it's an essential update nonetheless. Samsung hasn't provided an exact release date yet, but we know it's separate from the upcoming One UI 8.5 update. With the Galaxy S26 announced, older devices will likely receive software upgrades in reverse release order.
The timing of the update will depend on when Samsung wraps up the One UI 8.5 beta. Currently, the beta is on its sixth release for most regions, which is typically one of the final steps before the public build rollout.
Stay tuned for more Galaxy device updates, including Samsung's latest privacy display options, brighter panels, and the Digital Home Key's compatibility with UWB and NFC smart locks.
And here's the controversial part: With so many vulnerabilities addressed, do you think Samsung is doing enough to keep our devices secure? Or should they be doing more? Let's discuss in the comments!
